suicide
Deliberate self-ending
Suicide is the act of intentionally killing oneself.
As a verb, to suicide is to take one's own life—though commit suicide remains the more common phrasing.
The word extends to self-destructive choices: political suicide, career suicide.
A suicide mission has little chance of survival.
In football, a suicide squeeze is a risky play where the runner commits before the batter makes contact.
