Anne Frank
Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who kept a diary while hiding from Nazi persecution in Amsterdam during World War II.
She died in a concentration camp at fifteen; her diary, published posthumously, became one of the most widely read accounts of the Holocaust.
The Diary of Anne Frank is assigned reading in schools worldwide.
Her name evokes both the human cost of genocide and the power of bearing witness.
