Count Dracula
Bloodsucking Carpathian nobleman
Count Dracula is the vampire nobleman from Bram Stoker's 1897 novel *Dracula*, now the archetypal vampire in Western culture.
A Transylvanian aristocrat who feeds on human blood, he established the template for vampire fiction: aristocratic menace, seductive danger, aversion to sunlight and crucifixes.
The name has become shorthand for any vampire or bloodsucking figure: My landlord is a real Count Dracula with the rent.
