C language
Unix's native tongue
C is a general-purpose programming language developed in the early 1970s, foundational to modern computing.
It provides low-level access to memory while retaining readable syntax, making it ideal for operating systems, embedded systems, and performance-critical applications.
Unix, Linux, and Windows kernels are written largely in C.
Many languages—C++, Java, Python—borrowed its syntax or were implemented in it.
