Rust is a programming language developed by Mozilla, designed for performance and memory safety.
It appeals to systems programmers who want the speed of C or C++ without common pitfalls like null pointer errors: I rewrote the backend in Rust for better concurrency.
The name evokes the fungal plant disease, playing on themes of resilience and transformation. (Lowercase rust is corrosion or reddish-brown color.)
