wen
Benign skin lump
A wen is a cyst on the skin, typically on the scalp, formed when a sebaceous gland becomes blocked.
The term is old-fashioned in medical contexts but persists in general use for any benign lump or growth: The doctor said the wen was harmless and could be removed if it bothered me.
