yuan
Beijing's monetary unit
Yuan is the basic unit of currency in China, equivalent to ten jiao or one hundred fen.
In international contexts, it's often called the renminbi (RMB), though yuan refers specifically to the unit of account: The exchange rate is about seven yuan to the dollar.
Financial discussions frequently reference yuan in debates about currency manipulation and trade policy.
