melanoma
Malignant skin growth
Melanoma is the most dangerous form of skin cancer, arising from the pigment-producing cells called melanocytes.
It often develops from or resembles a mole, and can spread rapidly to other organs if not caught early.
The dermatologist identified the irregular mole as melanoma.
Dark, asymmetrical, or changing skin spots warrant immediate medical attention.
