Allah

Supreme Islamic deity

Allah is the Arabic word for God, used by Muslims worldwide and by Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews.

In Islamic tradition, Allah is the one true God—omnipotent, omniscient, and merciful.

The word appears throughout the Quran and in common expressions: Allahu akbar (God is greatest), inshallah (God willing), alhamdulillah (praise be to God).
