vector graphics
Math-defined pictures
Vector graphics are images stored as mathematical descriptions of shapes—points, lines, curves—rather than grids of pixels.
This allows them to scale to any size without losing sharpness: The logo was created as vector graphics so it could work on business cards and billboards.
Common formats include SVG and EPS.
Contrast with raster graphics, which store color values for each pixel.
