digital effects
Rendered visual enhancements
Digital effects are visual or audio elements created or manipulated using computer technology, especially in film, television, and video games.
The term encompasses everything from subtle color correction to elaborate fantasy creatures that couldn't exist practically.
Digital effects have largely replaced older optical and mechanical techniques: The dragon was entirely digital effects.
Often shortened to VFX (visual effects) or simply effects.
