3D rendering
Computer-generated imagery
3D rendering is the computer process of generating a two-dimensional image from a three-dimensional model, converting geometric data into a viewable picture with lighting, textures, and shadows.
The term covers both the technical process and its output.
Rendering can be real-time, as in video games where images must be generated instantly, or offline, as in animated films where each frame may take hours to compute.
