trolleybus
Pole-powered transit
A trolleybus is an electric bus that draws power from overhead wires through spring-loaded poles on its roof.
Unlike trams or streetcars, trolleybuses run on rubber tires rather than rails, giving them more flexibility to maneuver around obstacles.
They were common in mid-20th-century cities and remain in use in parts of Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
