tricorne
Three-cornered hat
A tricorne is a hat with its brim folded up on three sides, forming a triangular shape.
Associated with 18th-century European military and civilian dress, it appears now mainly in historical costume and period dramas: The actor adjusted his tricorne before stepping onto the colonial-era set.
Also spelled tricorn.
