jabots
Cascading shirt ruffles
A jabot is a decorative ruffle or frill of lace or fabric worn at the front of a shirt or blouse, typically cascading down from the neckline.
Originally part of men's formal dress in the 17th and 18th centuries, jabots are now worn mainly by women or as part of judicial and academic robes.
The judge's robe featured a crisp white jabot.
She pinned a lace jabot to her blouse for the formal dinner.
