busby

Guardsman's fur cap

A busby is a tall fur hat worn as part of certain military dress uniforms, particularly by British guards regiments and hussars.

The hat is cylindrical with a flat top, often decorated with a plume or bag hanging to one side.

The palace guards stood at attention in their red tunics and black busbies.
