bearskin

Tall furry cap

A bearskin is the pelt of a bear, used as a rug, blanket, or garment.

The word most often refers to the tall black fur cap worn by certain ceremonial military guards, especially the British Queen's Guard: tourists photographing the bearskin-clad soldiers at Buckingham Palace.
