trichrome
Having three colors
Trichrome refers to something involving three colors.
In biology and medicine, a trichrome stain uses three dyes to differentiate tissue components under microscopy—collagen, muscle, and cytoplasm appear in distinct colors: The trichrome stain revealed extensive fibrosis.
In printing and photography, trichrome processes use three color separations to produce full-color images.
