sorority
College women's society
A sorority is a social organization for female students at American colleges and universities, typically named with Greek letters: She joined a sorority her freshman year.
Sororities often maintain chapter houses where members live, and membership involves selective recruitment and initiation rituals.
The male equivalent is a fraternity.
Outside campus contexts, sorority can mean any association of women with shared interests.
