benefit
What you gain
As a verb, benefit typically takes as both subject and object words designating people or groups of people: the program benefits seniors or Seniors benefit from the program.
The central idea about benefit is betterment or advantage, and this is true of the noun as well: benefit can mean betterment or improvement generally, or a particular named thing that brings this, as in my job has great benefits.
Programs run by governments that offer advantages to different classes of citizens are typically called benefits.
