thermogram

Heat pattern picture

A thermogram is an image produced by infrared imaging that shows heat patterns across a surface.

In medicine, thermograms detect temperature variations in body tissue, sometimes used in breast cancer screening or diagnosing circulation problems: The thermogram revealed inflammation in her shoulder.

The term also applies to temperature-sensitive recordings from other instruments.
