propeller shaft
Torque delivery rod
A propeller shaft is the rotating rod that transmits power from an engine to a propeller.
In ships and aircraft, it connects the engine to the blades that push through water or air.
In automobiles, the propeller shaft—also called a drive shaft—runs from the transmission to the rear axle: The mechanic found a crack in the propeller shaft.
