phasing
Introducing in increments
Phasing refers to the timing relationship between waves or cycles.
In audio and electronics, signals in phase align their peaks and troughs; out of phase, they cancel each other.
Phasing also describes gradual implementation: The company is phasing in new software over six months.
To phase something out is to discontinue it gradually: They're phasing out the old model.
