programs

Code that executes

Programs are plans of action, schedules of events, or organized sets of activities: a fitness program, a television program, the concert program.

In computing, a program is a sequence of instructions that tells a computer what to do.

To program is to create such instructions or to schedule something in advance: I programmed the thermostat to lower at night.

Also spelled programme in British English, except for computer programs.
