steed
Noble riding animal
A steed is a horse, especially one ridden in battle or on grand occasions.
The word is literary and old-fashioned, evoking knights and epic quests: The knight mounted his trusty steed.
In modern use, steed often appears ironically for any vehicle or mount: My rusty bicycle was my noble steed.
