plackart
Lower chest protection
A plackart is a piece of plate armor covering the lower front torso, worn over the breastplate for additional protection.
It was common in 15th-century European armor, typically hinged or strapped to allow movement while reinforcing the vulnerable midsection against lance strikes and sword thrusts.
