ordered pair
Sequence-sensitive duo
An ordered pair is a set of two elements where sequence matters—the pair (a, b) is different from (b, a).
In coordinate geometry, ordered pairs locate points on a plane: The point (3, 5) lies three units right and five up from the origin.
The concept extends to any situation where two related values must be kept in fixed order.
