dyad
Couple as one
A dyad is a pair or couple—two things considered as a unit.
The term appears most often in technical contexts: sociology speaks of the dyad as the smallest social group, psychology examines dyadic relationships between therapist and patient or parent and child.
The mother-infant dyad forms the basis of attachment theory.
In music, a dyad is two notes sounded together.
