object

Physical item exists

An object is a thing—something you can see or touch, distinct from living beings and abstract ideas.

In grammar, the object receives the action: in She threw the ball, ball is the object.

To object (stress on second syllable) is to express disapproval or opposition: I object to this plan.

An objection is the noun form.

The object of something is its target or purpose: the object of her affection, the object of the game.
