negotiating
Working toward agreement
Negotiating is the process of discussing terms to reach an agreement.
Parties negotiate prices, contracts, salaries, and treaties.
The word also applies to navigating physical obstacles: negotiating a sharp turn, negotiating rough terrain.
In both senses, negotiating involves working through something that requires care or skill to get past.
