mausolea
Monumental burial chambers
Mausolea is the plural of mausoleum, a grand tomb—usually a freestanding building housing the remains of the dead.
The word derives from the elaborate tomb built for Mausolus, a Persian satrap, in the fourth century BCE.
The cemetery's mausolea dated to the Victorian era.
The plural mausoleums is equally common.
