entombment
Placing in tomb
Entombment is the act of placing a body in a tomb.
The word appears most often in religious and art-historical contexts—the entombment of Christ is a common subject in Renaissance painting.
More broadly, entombment can describe any burial or the state of being sealed away: the entombment of miners after the collapse.
