luminance
Light intensity measure
Luminance is the measurable intensity of light emitted or reflected from a surface, perceived as brightness.
It's a technical term in physics and display technology, quantifying how much light reaches the eye from a given area: The monitor's luminance was too high for comfortable nighttime viewing.
Luminance differs from illuminance, which measures light falling on a surface rather than light leaving it.
