PAL

Analog television standard

Pal is an informal word for a friend or companion: We've been pals since grade school.

It can address someone directly, sometimes warmly (Hey, pal, good to see you) and sometimes with edge (Listen, pal, I don't want any trouble).

To pal around is to spend time together casually.

PAL in uppercase is a television broadcast standard used outside North America.
