traceroute
Network hop tracker
Traceroute is a network diagnostic tool that maps the path data packets take from one computer to another across the Internet.
It reveals each intermediate router or "hop" along the way, showing how long each step takes.
Network administrators use traceroute to identify where connections slow down or fail: The traceroute showed the delay was happening at our ISP's server.
