Linguini is a type of pasta shaped like flattened spaghetti—long, thin ribbons with an elliptical cross-section.
The name comes from Italian for "little tongues." Linguini pairs traditionally with seafood sauces, pesto, or light olive oil preparations: linguini with clam sauce, linguini alle vongole.
