Italian ribbon noodles

Fettuccine is a type of pasta cut into flat, ribbon-like strips, wider than linguine but narrower than pappardelle.

The name comes from Italian for "little ribbons." Fettuccine appears most famously in fettuccine Alfredo, tossed with butter and Parmesan: We ordered the fettuccine with mushrooms.
