misfits
They don't belong
Misfits are people who don't fit in—those who fail to conform to the expectations or norms of a group.
The term can be disparaging, suggesting someone awkward or socially inept: He was always a misfit at school.
But it also carries positive connotations of individuality and creative nonconformity: Silicon Valley was built by misfits and dropouts.
A misfit can also be something that fits poorly, like an ill-fitting garment.
