The Doors

The Doors were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965, known for Jim Morrison's poetic lyrics and charismatic stage presence, Ray Manzarek's keyboard work, and songs like "Light My Fire" and "Riders on the Storm." The name comes from Aldous Huxley's *The Doors of Perception*, itself drawn from William Blake: "If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite."
