AARP

Fifty-plus advocacy group

AARP is the American Association of Retired Persons, a nonprofit organization advocating for Americans over fifty.

Founded in 1958, it offers members discounts, insurance options, and publications while lobbying on issues affecting older adults.

The acronym is now the official name, since many members aren't retired: My AARP card gets me ten percent off.
