flower child
Gentle sixties idealist
A flower child was a young person associated with the 1960s counterculture, especially the hippie movement.
Flower children advocated peace, love, and nonviolence, often literally wearing or distributing flowers as symbols of these values: The flower children gathered in San Francisco for the Summer of Love.
The term now evokes that era's idealism, sometimes dismissively.
