electronic collar

Remote training device

An electronic collar is a device worn around an animal's neck that delivers stimuli—usually electric shocks, vibrations, or sounds—triggered by remote control or automatically.

Used primarily in dog training to discourage barking or reinforce boundaries, these collars are controversial: proponents call them effective training tools, critics consider them inhumane.

The dog learned to stay in the yard after a few corrections from the electronic collar.
