behavior
Manner of acting
You can use behavior to talk about the way someone acts generally (I was impressed by the children’s good behavior) or a particular thing that someone does (Behaviors such as biting and scratching may be a sign of an underlying problem).
Even though there is an idea of intention or agency at the core of behavior (which comes from the underlying verb behave), many things are said to have behavior where no agency is involved: for example, words, atomic particles, cells, or computer systems.
