carburetor
Engine air blender
A carburetor is a device in an internal combustion engine that mixes air and fuel in the proper ratio for combustion.
Before fuel injection became standard in the late twentieth century, carburetors were found in virtually all gasoline engines—cars, motorcycles, lawnmowers.
The mechanic adjusted the carburetor to fix the rough idle.
Also spelled carburettor in British English.
