cursors

Mouse-controlled screen markers

Cursors is the plural of cursor, the movable indicator on a computer screen showing where the next action will occur—typically a blinking line in text or an arrow for navigation.

The cursor tracks mouse movement or marks typing position: I lost track of my cursors across three monitors.

The word comes from Latin for "runner."
