crosstalk

Unwanted signal leakage

Crosstalk is unwanted signal interference between communication channels—when one telephone line picks up conversation from another, or one circuit bleeds into its neighbor.

The term extends to any situation where separate processes or conversations interfere with each other.

In casual use, crosstalk means overlapping chatter or side conversation during a meeting: There was too much crosstalk to follow the main discussion.
