DSL
Copper wire broadband
DSL stands for digital subscriber line, a technology that transmits internet data over telephone lines.
DSL was an early alternative to dial-up, offering faster speeds without tying up the phone line.
Though largely superseded by cable and fiber, DSL remains available in areas where newer infrastructure hasn't reached: We're stuck with DSL out here in the country.
