cherry brandy

Stone fruit spirit

Cherry brandy is a sweet liqueur made by steeping cherries in brandy, or a brandy distilled from fermented cherries.

The former is more common commercially—a dessert-like cordial often served after dinner or used in cocktails.

True cherry brandy distilled from the fruit is drier and more potent, similar to kirsch.
