baronetage

Minor nobility class

Baronetage refers collectively to baronets as a class—the hereditary rank below baron but above knight in British nobility.

It also means a list or directory of baronets and their families, similar to a peerage for higher nobility: He consulted the baronetage to trace her family's history.

The rank was created in 1611 to raise funds for the Crown.
