baronets

Hereditary British knights

Baronets is the plural of baronet, a hereditary title in British nobility ranking below barons but above knights.

Unlike knights, baronets pass the title to their heirs; unlike peers, they hold no seat in the House of Lords.

The title is addressed as "Sir" with the surname followed by "Bt." or "Bart.": The baronets assembled for the ceremony.
